Scope: Conversion of a former lab building into MIT’s new Department of Facilities and Office of Campus Planning. Comprehensive electrical renovation project includes demolition of existing infrastructure prior to providing ground-up electrical installations:
• New, stacked electrical closets house distribution equipment
• New Fire alarm system
• Energy efficient lighting package and Sylvania wireless lighting control system

Highlights:
J&M Brown utilized 3D CADD in design/layout of the facility’s new electrical rooms. Temporary power for construction is drawn from an adjacent MIT building.
